Labuan
Labuan, one of three federal territories of Malaysia, comprises the main island of Pulau Labuan (Labuan Island) and six surrounding islets: Pulau Papan, Pulau Rusukan Besar, Pulau Rusukan Kecil, Pulau Kuraman, Pulau Burong and Pulau Daat.
Labuan is only 8km or twenty-minute boat ride from Menumbok, a small fishing town in Sabah. High speed air-conditioned ferries ply daily to Labuan from Sabah, Sarawak and Negara Brunei Darussalam. The trip from Kota Kinabalu, capital of Sabah takes about 3 hours and about an hour from Negara Brunei Darussalam.
A thriving duty-free port, Labuan is dubbed ‘The Pearl of Borneo’ and enjoys an esteemed status as an offshore business and financial centre. A vibrant holiday spot with stunning wreck-diving sites, tax-free shopping, 5-star hotels and World War II relics, Labuan has it all!
